The Season of Singing (and Recording) Has Come!

Happy Fall, Ya’ll!

Joe and I spent last weekend up in the mountains enjoying the splendor of Autumn’s color on display. It was amazing! And we were so grateful for the opportunity to steal away from life’s busyness. I’m not exactly sure where September went, but I half expect it to jump out from behind the corner exclaiming, “Just kidding! I’m not really over yet!”

I haven’t been as faithful at writing on my blog as I’d like to be, but it’s so important that I write you now and ask for your prayer and encouragement during this next several month stretch, in particular!

At long last, I am recording my next project. I start laying down tracks next week and will work off and on during October and November.

A lot of time has passed since I recorded my last full project (does anyone still buy actual CD’s anymore?). And while I’ve continued to write, do concerts, and lead worship all along, life has found me in seasons that have proven to distract or deplete me from focusing on recording itself, as my heart has longed to do. By the grace of God, it is time! I’ve been writing a bunch and have narrowed the list down to a set of ten songs I’m excited about recording and sharing with you.

The collection of songs will have not only songs of worship and about our journey and seasons with the Lord, but I have also written a song about my Dad (who went to Heaven in Dec. 2021), a song for my son Christian (to which I’m sure many parents will be able to relate), and a love song for Joe (which is mushy, of course!). I’m excited to share these songs, which are each a window into my story.

I am humbly asking for your prayer and continued support, as I dive into this process.

As is true of any creative endeavor - particularly when diving back in after a hiatus - fear, insecurity and second-guessing tend to attack and try to take hold. We know the “enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy,” but as my friend Judy says in her new book, “Our King Jesus has the loudest roar.” Pray that I will settle into the peace and presence of God, that His anointing will rest heavily upon this project, and that He will guide the creative process all along the way, down to each detail. When I am weak, then He is strong! Thank God for THAT promise.

If you feel like you’d like to leave a word of encouragement or a Scripture that comes to mind, or even a simple “thumbs up!”, please do so in the comments below. I will do my best to keep you all updated on the process and provide some “sneak peaks” into the recording process! And if there are things on your heart for which you want me to agree with you in prayer, please share those as well. We are walking together & we need one another!

Stay tuned, my friends. And thank you for listening and walking with me as brothers and sisters on this journey!

Much Love!

Shannon Adducci
